New Wotif Marketing to Drive Website Traffic

THE weekend press featured an interesting marketing ploy from Wotif.com to drive website traffic. Page 1 of Sydney’s Sun-Herald newspaper – which has a circulation of 480,000 – featured a sticker that encouraged readers to visit Wotif to claim an accommodation voucher using a unique code.

The campaign, which ends on 13 November, would have cost plenty but Wotif saved some bucks on the prize bank, which was just $5000 or roughly one room for every 14,000 Sun-Herald readers. Meanwhile, Wotif Managing Director Robbie Cooke has confirmed that the website’s booking window will extend from 28 days to three months early in the New Year. By the end of 2009 Wotif will be offering a 365 day booking matrix. Travel Trends: November 3, 2008
