Free Breakfast Not Wine Sells Rooms

People know value when they see it. A survey from Travelzoo confirms what many in the accommodation industry already suspected – food not wine sells rooms with respondents saying that a free breakfast was most likely to make them to book a hotel deal. A free bottle of wine had least impact.

Not only is the potential saving much greater, punters know that the wine hotels give away in package deals is bbarely a step up from the park bench. The second most popular value-add is a room upgrade. These results follow another Travelzoo survey in which 76% of its Australian subscribers said they’d book a holiday because they saw a great deal even if they had no travel plans.
