SENSATIONALIST ‘current affairs’ program and self appointed consumer watchdog Today Tonight has turned its attention to online hotel booking sites – comparing room rates obtained through wotif.com, lastminute.com.au and hotelclub.com with the actual prices charged by properties.
No surprise that bypassing these sites and booking direct by phone yielded the best prices (at least from a consumer perspective). There were also some major pricing variations among the three websites (two of which are owned by the same company). Use this link to access video of the three minute report. No Vacancy continues to evolve. After the success of No Vacancy Thailand, the 2012 event will expand to encompass Southeast Asia.
It'll still be held in Bangkok and Thailand remains central to No Vacancy's future in the region.
