The rapid growth of accommodation meta-search outfit HotelsCombined continues with the Sydney-based company linking with big European airfare search site Skyscanner to power its new hotel search facility. The rock-solid tech platform developed by the team at HotelsCombined, led by Yury Shar, was a major factor in securing the partnership. That, and the fact there’s not a lot of competition in this space.

The big players have all gone for airfares, or all-in-one models, allowing HotelsCombined to profit from its niche, searching more than 200,000 hotels across 195 countries. Skyscanner claims to be the most powerful and flexible flight search engine in Europe, providing instant online comparison on flight prices for over 670,000 routes on over 600 airlines.
