Online Mobile Reality Check But iPhone Changing Game

For all the hype surrounding mobile internet, new research from Nieslen shows that just under 15% of all Australian mobile device users are using them to regularly access the internet. The main reason is that most (57%) don't own an internet-capable device while many of those that do have older generation phones that are clunky to use. In terms of online mobile activity, search is most popular followed by checking news and weather, email, maps and social networking. Nokia is still the dominant internet phone brand with 35% market share, though iPhone has made enormous gains and is expected to triple its share this year.
