Two obscure websites – Snapshots of Provence and I Wanna Go There – have taken out the major travel and tourism honours at The Webbys, regarded as the world's leading web awards. Webby category winners are determined by members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. There also People's Choice awards. Snapshots Of Provence won the Tourism Webby while I Wanna Go There took out the Travel Webby. No idea how the 'Academy' differentiated travel and tourism. People's Award winners were NYCGO (tourism) and Lonely Planet (travel). Visit the Webby site for all details.

No Vacancy continues to evolve. After the success of No Vacancy Thailand, the 2012 event will expand to encompass Southeast Asia.
It'll still be held in Bangkok and Thailand remains central to No Vacancy's future in the region.

The first Destination Online TNQ half-day conference has just been held in Cairns.
