Virgin Blue Ramps Up Marketing Through Twitter

VIRGIN Blue boss Grett Godfrey  is looking forward to starting the first airline war on Twitter.

The airline now has 8500 'followers' getting its Tweets, maximum 140 character internet messages, including discounted airfares sales.

Godfrey told The Australian that social media is here to stay. "It's not a passing phenomenon," Mr Godfrey said. "Smart companies will quickly learn to use it as tomorrow's essential marketing platform.
