Great start to the ski season at Perisher Blue which has recorded its best opening weekend since 2000. Sales and Marketing Manager Richard Phillips says forward bookings look good but, echoing spending patterns elsewhere,  consumers are booking later than ever. “People just want a deal,” he says, adding that Perisher has had great success in filling low season June beds through a $199 offer (two nights at Station Resort, two day lift tickets) with daily deal site with Spreets that shifted 1300 packages in two three hour sales. Phillips says overall inquiry levels have been high but getting callers to convert has been a challenge. Sound familiar?
