Intrepid Group, the world’s largest adventure company, has announced its results for the first time, posting a $10.7m pre-tax profit on revenues of $341m for 2017. Revenue grew quickly year on year, up almost 15%, however pre-tax earnings growth was subdued at 1.7%, suggesting an increase in costs.
Pax numbers were extremely healthy, reaching almost 300,000, representing overall growth of 35%.
Urban Adventures, which offers day tours, was the star performer, increasing passenger numbers by 62% to 172,000.
Southeast Asia is Intrepid’s best selling destination followed by South America, Southern Asia and Southern Europe.
Meanwhile, the Intrepid Foundation not-for-profit raised almost $1m in 2017 for international charities.
