A commercial breakthrough for Amadeus, which yesterday announced that it will be integrating Alipay, China’s leading online payment service provider, into its payment platform.

It will open up automated payments for Chinese travel providers using the Amadeus system.

In other GDS news, Air India has become the 50th airline to sign up for Travelport Rich Content and Branding, which allows carriers to “market and retail their products more effectively through customisation of display and content”.
