If present growth rates continue, Chinese tourists will soon usurp Australians as Bali’s dominant international market.

Chinese tourists in BaliThe Daily Telegraph reports that Chinese growth into Bali this year is running at 37%, taking estimated market share to 20.6% compared with Australians at 23%.

So China is catching but Australia is not flagging.

The latest travel figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed an 16% year-on-year rise in visits to Indonesia during May.

And there’s no sign of that growth waning with an abundance of cheap deals in the Australian market fuelling demand.
