Brendan Sobie is the chief analyst and chief representative Southeast Asia for CAPA -Centre for Aviation. He leads CAPA’s team of senior analysts, who provide global coverage of industry developments and trends from bases in five cities.
Brendan specializes in analysis of emerging markets and has extensive experience covering Asia and Latin America. He gives frequent presentations and is often quoted by the media in Asia and globally.
Brendan joined CAPA, previously known as the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation, in April 2011. He is based at CAPA’s Southeast Asia representative office in Singapore.
Prior to joining CAPA, Brendan spent over 10 years at Flightglobal, the publisher of Flight International Magazine, Airline Business Magazine and website Flightglobal.com.
During this span he was based in all three of Flightglobal’s offices – London, Singapore and Washington DC – and held various senior editorial positions.
Brendan has been covering the aviation industry for over 15 years. He’s also a private pilot, licensed in both Malaysia and the US. He has a degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University in New York.
CAPA was established in 1990 and is a leading producer of independent airline industry analysis reports. CAPA’s Knowledge Centre presents major conferences on key aviation topics and provides education courses for the aviation industry.
CAPA also has consulting arms that provides a range of advisory services. It is based in Sydney and has representative offices in Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK and the US.
