Bruce McKenzie is chief operating officer Australasia for IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), responsible for the operation and expansion of the 50+ network of InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels across the region.
At No Vacancy, Bruce will talk about the biggest brand development initiative ever undertaken by a hotel company, the US$1 billion worldwide refresh of the Holiday Inn brand family.
With more than 3,400 Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels globally, another 800+ in the pipeline and 100 million guest nights globally each year, the brand has come a long way since its inception in 1952.
The three-year refresh program represented an unprecedented undertaking of macro and micro improvements, from the rollout of new branding and livery down to the replacement of more than 1.2 million pillows.
What were the major challenges? What will such an extraordinary rebirth accomplish for the brand? And what has IHG learnt as the project comes to a close? Find out the story behind the story in this presentation.
