Chris Chambers has worked in the tourism sector for 15 years. During this time he has held roles in various parts of the industry including retail travel, international media, international marketing and digital marketing.
Chris is currently the Director of Digital Marketing at Tourism Queensland (TQ). TQ is the state tourism authority for Queensland. Chris and the Digital Marketing team are responsible for Tourism Queensland’s promotion of Queensland’s tourism products and destinations to a global audience via digital platforms. Key responsibilities of the team include:
* Ensuring TQ’s suite of approximately 50 consumer websites, including
www.QueenslandHolidays.com.au and international market web sites, are
reflective of the Queensland holiday experience and evolve to meet the
needs of those interested in holidaying in Queensland
* Ensure that TQ marketing efforts are effective through measurement,
accountability and refinement of Digital Marketing opportunities.
* Developing tools and engaging content that maximise exposure for
Queensland. TQ achieves this through use of podcasts, User Generated
Content, RSS feeds, e-newsletters, e-brochures and activity on YouTube,
Twitter and facebook.
