Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You at STA Travel

Strange approach to business from STA Travel, which has instructed its consultants not to give out the phone number for their Australian head office in Melbourne. Corporate callers must ring STA’s travel hotline, the only number available on its website, leave a message with a pleasant consultant, who will contact the person in question, and then maybe you’ll get a call back. Not exactly best business practice. Why the secrecy?

  1. That would be because they made all of their operational staff (including me) redundant in the past couple of years and relocated these roles to Liverpool in the UK. Apparently it was in order to streamline global procedures, but I think it will cause more issues than it solves. Such a shame as they lost alot of really good people.
