Search marketers are fearful that pay per click prices on AdWords will rise following Google’s recent and surprising removal of the right column ad display.

Google is now showing up to four ads above organic search results, which means fewer ads overall.

So, the argument goes, greater competition for fewer spaces will force up prices.
