Travelport is on a roll, amazing what fresh product can do, with AirAsia today announcing it will distribute all fares and ancillary services through the US Global Distribution System.

The deal means that in the past two weeks Travelport has signed the largest low cost carriers in Asia and Europe – AirAsia and Ryanair – to distribution agreements, something of a coup.

The key they claim is the (relatively) new Travelport Merchandising Platform, which allows travel agents to sell everything the low cost airlines do, such as pre-allocated seating, meals and bags.

It’s made a real difference to the company’s momentum. Will it continue?
