Australia’s outbound travel boom shows no sign of abating with a 10.2% increase in the number of Australians (665,000) travelling overseas in September 2011 compared with September 2010, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The fastest growing destinations were: Thailand (38.3%), US (+16.3%), Indonesia (+16.9%), Italy (16.7%) and Singapore (+10.5%). Inbound tourism remains flat with 500,00 arrivals during September, about the same as last year.
