Amadeus seems to have done pretty well for a company involved in what some pundits consider a dying industry – travel Global Distribution Systems. During 2010 Amadeus reports that distribution revenue increased 8.5% to €1,992.2m and total travel agency bookings rose 6.9%.

Amadeus is now claiming 36.7% share of global travel agency air bookings.

Meanwhile, Altea, its airline tech platform performed strongly, with ‘Passengers Boarded’ increasing 56.8% – to 372.3m – as the total number of airlines using Altea reached 94. Amadeus recorded an adjusted profit for 2010 of €427.4m, up 24.3%.
