SYDNEY will be Australia’s strongest hotel market this year with revenue per available room growth of 8.7% over 2010 while rival Melbourne will finally pay the price for a dramatic expansion in rooms with a flat 12 months forecast (-0.6%) according to industry analyst Dean Dransfield. Other projections include Adelaide (+4.5%), Brisbane (7.6%), Cairns (5.6%), Caberra (0.8%), Darwin (1.9%), Gold Coast (7.9%), Hobart (-0.8) and Perth (5%).
