Helloworld is in talks to buy AOT Group, Australia’s largest inbound tour operator and domestic wholesaler.
“The evaluation of the potential acquisition is still in progress. No transaction has been agreed or approved by the HLO Board and there is no certainty that the current discussions will lead to any transaction,” Helloworld said in a statement today.
AOT Group is already very close to Helloworld with its owners Andrew and Cinzia Burns buying 10.2% of the travel agency group in mid-April.
Other major HLO shareholders include UBS 7.4%, Europe Voyager 23.3% and Spiros Alysandratos from Consolidated Travel with around 20%.
