Helloworld has lost more than 30% of its NZ network following the mass resignation of 36 United Travel franchisees.
News of the resignations came soon after the company announced it was re-branding all its NZ outlets Helloworld in 2016.
Before the resignations Helloworld had 90 NZ stores evenly split between the Harvey World Travel and United Travel brands as part of its Stella Travel Services Network.
It is also buying 10 stores from Air New Zealand.
Stella Travel Services CEO Greig Leighton played the defections down saying they are “not material”.
“Some franchisees have made the decision that Helloworld is not for them and, while that is disappointing, we are confident we have a strong platform from which to launch Helloworld in NZ,” he said.
