Hoteliers and other ‘land operators’ should get set for a united negotiating stance from Helloworld which has poached one of rival Flight Centre’s key contracting staff and unified its approach across all wholesale and inbound brands, giving it increased clout but also simplifying the process.

Joe McCormack has been appointed to the newly created role of General Manager Land Purchase across Qantas Holidays, Viva Holidays, Qantas Vacations, Go Holidays, Insider Journeys, Sunlover Holidays, Territory Discoveries, AOT Inbound, ATS Pacific and ETA.

He was  previously General Manager – FCGP Corporate at Flight Centre Travel Group and also has  a strong background in hotels.

“There are significant synergies to be achieved within our new procurement structure and we believe our supplier partners will welcome the consolidation of the process which will deliver them access to a range of channels via a single point of contact within the business,” said Cinzia Burnes, Helloworld’s head of wholesale and inbound.
