Kimi Anderson is a social entrepreneur and the founder and director of TravelGiver, the new community portal for socially conscious travellers.
After completing a Bachelor of Business degree, Kimi spent three years backpacking, working briefly as a security guard and in a chicken factory to fund her travels.
Returning to Australia, Kimi commenced her ‘professional’ career and has more than fifteen years experience in sales and marketing.
The last twelve years have been in hospitality, working for a global accommodation chain.
Her professional experience includes working at News Limited, Gordon and Gotch, Pinpoint Marketing and Best Western Australasia.
Kimi’s passions are her family, travels, philanthropy and trying new foods.
Wife and mother of one, Kimi lives in Sydney and has enjoyed a life full of opportunities and is surrounded by a loving family and friends.
Knowing how lucky and fortunate she has been, by way of giving back, she launched TravelGiver.com in May 2013.
Kimi aims to use her experience and skills to help projects (grass root initiatives set up to assist communities in need) raise their awareness and funds, provide a forum for people to research projects and share their experiences, and use technology to enrich peoples lives.
TravelGiver allows users to give while they travel. Each time a booking is made, half the commission is donated to the project of their choice – it costs the user no extra and they have a choice of online partners to book with.
