A restructure at Fairfax Media has led to Kirsty Shaw being appointed General Manager – Travel, giving her responsibility for The Stayz Group, now part of the newly-created Marketplaces division. Shaw will oversee product development, commercial partnerships, customer service, and marketing for Fairfax Media’s online holiday rental brands – Stayz.com.au, TakeABreak.com.au and Rentahome.com.au, which sell more than 40,000 properties throughout Australia.
“Kirsty has been with Fairfax for 8 years and has an impressive track record in building brands, developing business strategy and managing integration projects. She will do an exceptional job in leading this important, high growth category for Fairfax,” says Nic Cola, CEO Fairfax Media, Marketplaces.
Previously Strategy and Operations Director for the Transactions Divisions at Fairfax Digital, Shaw was responsible for the strategic direction of the RSVP, Stayz, InvestSmart, and Australian Property Monitors businesses as well as their day-to-day operations. She has more than 10 years experience in the digital media industry.
“I’m very excited about the possibilities that The Stayz Group presents across the holiday rentals sector. As a group we can give property managers and owners the opportunity to reach a larger and broader audience, give consumers more choice, and provide strong industry leadership,” Ms Shaw says.
