Amadeus has signed a content agreement with the Lido Group that is expected to add some 2000 properties to its accommodation database over the next 18 months. Many of these hotels, motels, apartments, leisure parks and B&Bs are in remote areas and have never been on a GDS before. Lido is a major provider of corporate accommodation in the Australian and NZ markets with numerous government contracts, including the Department of Defence.
Lido has around 8000 properties on AADX, its hotel distribution platform. It expects 5000 to be ‘eligible’ for distribution through Amadeus and is budgeting on having 2000 sign up within the first 18 months for an additional annual fee, which has yet to be determined.
The Lido properties will be available to travel agents around the world through the Amadeus LinkHotel product which feeds through to add-ons such as Hotels Plus, Amadeus eTravel Management (AeTM), Hotel Web Services or ePower.
