Amadeus has finalised its USD830m purchase of Navitaire from Accenture – a crucial step in the global travel IT giant’s push into the low cost carrier tech market.
Navitaire has more than 50 LCC clients using its technology in areas such as reservations, ancillary sales, loyalty, revenue management, revenue accounting and business intelligence.
Amadeus says the Navitaire brand will be retained and the business housed within the Airline IT unit.
Current CEO David P. Evans will remain in charge.
“As part of the acquisition, approximately 550 Navitaire employees, including the company’s senior management team, will transfer to Amadeus with immediate effect,” Amadeus said in a statement.
