Mobile bookings are generating more than US$20 million a month in revenue for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). That is almost US$700,00 a day. IHG dropped these figures while launching its Priority Club Rewards app for iPad.
The company already has iPhone apps for all seven of its brands, plus a customised corporate app that allows clients to view and book hotels at their negotiated rates.
Michael Menis, vice president, Global Interactive Marketing at IHG, said: “It’s not just about booking rooms – we’re building relationships and connecting with (guests) throughout their stay.”
