The evidence for mobile becoming the dominant online transaction platform sooner rather than later keeps on mounting with PayPal Australia reporting a 1600% increase in mobile travel  purchases in 2012. Mobile now accounts for 20% of all its travel transactions.

Ironically, it would appear that many of these “mobile” transactions are in fact sedentary with PayPal finding the the most popular mobile purchase time was between 10pm and 11pm on a Thursday. Sound like many people are using a tablet at home to research and book travel rather than on the go.
