Hamilton Island has just launched an iPhone app for guests that it hopes will lead to greater participation in activities and, ultimately, spend. “We’re pretty excited about it and have spent a considerable amount of time ensuring that the App provides live data for activities and events on the island, something we believe is lacking in other destination apps that are out there,” said Bernie O’Keefe, Hamilton’s Online Sales and Marketing Manager (pictured).
“We think this app will have a positive impact on the guest experience, and also lead to greater on-island activity spend.
The app was developed mostly in-house here, with a Canadian company helping us deploy it into the Apple iTunes Framework. We have spent a considerable amount of time building a live database of content which is now powering much of the Website and App content simultaneously.
“We hope to be able to deploy an Android version of the App, and an in-room Smart-TV version into Hamilton Island Hotels over the coming months.”
