These open-hearted messages are is typical of the posts you’ll find on Outbound app.
Founded by Ryan Hanly and Mark Cantoni back in January, it connects travellers when they’re on the road.
“It’s going really well,” says Ryan.
“We just got into the muru-D accelerator program, which is running for the first time in Brisbane.
“It’s exciting and will allow us the time to really focus and get stuck into the company with some really good mentors.
“It also provides validation and is really going to speed the whole process up.”
The process of course being growing Outbound app.
There’ve been 15,000 thousand downloads so far with a 55% active user rate.
“Our biggest market is probably the USA, recently overtaking Australia.”
It’s also popular among NZ, UK and Canadian travellers, mostly aged between 18-30.
Uers are sending up to 5000 messages to each other every day while downloads are growing at 10%-12% a month.
So the boys are quite pleased but they “really want to ramp it up” with a sustained advertising and marketing campaign.
However, that requires money – something the pair are looking for.
Meanwhile they’re also working on a viable business model and are investigating various ad or sales based options.
