Web travel company Online Republic, which operates numerous cruise, car rental and motorhome websites,  has launched a new global events intelligence business called PredictHQ.

It says PredictHQ is a “global events platform that aggregates, enriches and connects scheduled and real-time event data happening both locally and globally then predicts which ones could impact your business.”

CEO Campbell Brown this knowledge allows businesses to make better, enabling them too either convert on opportunities or mitigate losses.

Meanwhile, Liz ward, who ran the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse for many years, has started a new business called Tourism Tribe.

She describes it as an online learning community where “sharing of knowledge is enabled through modern open source web forums, small online training sessions and chat rooms.

Tourism Tribe has 240 members so far.
