Fresh site from that sees a bright new look, much bolder and sharper, plus several new features including content from Lonely Planet and tour product supplied by Viator. Launched last Wednesday, the first few days were fraught, says co-founder Chris Kosta, with the usual bugs to be ironed out including numerous broken links that hurt booking conversions and Google SEO. “It was a bit of a hair pulling moment, but sometimes you have to take a step back to move two steps forward,” Kosta says.

The glitches have now been fixed and it’s full steam ahead. Kosta says the long-term plan is to turn, essentially an affiliate site pulling its accommodation from Expedia, into more of travel portal where consumers can properly research destinations and book multiple products. His company, the Online Travel Group, also plans to launch other, related travel sites in the not too distant future.
