New research from TravelClick shows that OTA hotel bookings are growing faster than those made direct with supplier sites.
TravelClick North American Distribution Review reveals that “OTA (Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Bookings.com, etc.), Brand.com and GDS channels all experienced healthy growth in the independent traveller segment, up 9.7%, 5.8% and 2.2% respectively.”
The review reported significant declines in hotel call centre volumes and walk-in business.
“Mobile bookings are increasing at impressive levels, and we anticipate the trend continuing into the foreseeable future,” added John Hach, Senior Industry Analyst at TravelClick.
