Qantas sentiment has bounced after the carrier put fleet expansion plans on hold following months of deteriorating performance.  Its April traffic figures continued the depressing run with falls in all key indicators except one – fleet growth: ie supply is moving ahead of demand. The impact is that, as The Australian reported, Qantas-brand load factors were at a 15 year low after 13 months of consecutive declines. Something had to give.
