Australian OTA Webjet has posted a 5% increase in net profit to A$11m and is confident of future prospects. In its accounts, Webjet attributed all revenue during the 2010/11 financial year, apart from bank interest, to flight bookings. MD John Guscic said Webjet will soon relaunch its hotel offering in a bid to diversify. Meanwhile, Orbitz is hurting, registering a poor 2nd quarter result in contrast to its US peers Priceline and Expedia. Gross bookings declined 3% while net income was down 9% to US$8.9m.
