One of New Zealand’s most popular websites, New Zealand Tourism Guide, has been overhauled and is now totally responsive; a necessity with more than 50% of its visitors using a phone or tablet.
General manager Garry Bond says between 250,000 to 300,000 travellers visit the site each month.
“Thee new site provides a real New Zealand feel with imagery, information and tourism business profiles, says Bond.
“With international visitors making up 50% of the traffic to the site, it was imperative that it was fully mobile responsive,” says Bond.
“These travellers are highly likely to use a mobile or tablet while on the road – in fact around half of site visitors are now using a mobile device to view our site.”
He says New Zealand Tourism Guide has been online since 1997.
“One key feature of our new site is that we link directly to a tourism operators own booking calendar and while the likes of booking.com play a part in a businesses marketing mix, we are a firm believer in keeping as much profit in the pocket of our tourism clients,” concludes Bond.
