THE Roamfree saga has taken another twist with receivers Ferrier Hodgson selling four of its companies – ResOnline, Roamfree Advanced, Roamfree.com and BookEasy – to David Oliver via his holding company Tourism Holdings. Oliver actually co-founded ResOnline and what became Roamfree Advanced before selling to Roamfree at the height of its debt-fuelled acquisition binge. Unfortunately for him it was for shares not cash.
Oliver said it was great to get the companies back. “The plan is to consolidate for the next few months, get the technology back to scratch and build up the team again.” He added that the companies would be profitable with the right level of debt. Oliver said he would be keeping 23 of the 30 staff.
