The security of world-leading OTA Booking.com has been breached with the company admitting it refunded “around 10,000” customers tricked into pre-paying for accommodation by tech-savvy fraudsters who had obtained details of their reservations.
Peter Kornelisse, chief security officer at Booking.com, admitted the breach to the Telegraph UK and said: “We have a battle against organised crime.”
The company said it has changed the way in which data can be accessed since the fraud.
