For the second time in two weeks, Starwood has revealed it’s  lost a major Australian hotel management contract with Hyatt set to take over management of the 892 room Four Points By Sheraton Darling Harbour in Sydney.

This follows news that Starwood will exit the Sheron Noosa next week after 27 years. Management there will be assumed by Sofitel.

“Basically we have mutually agreed with both sets of owners to exit these properties,” Starwood regional VP Sean Hunt told The Australian.

“They went through an operator  selection process and we were unable to agree on commercial terms.”

But it’s not all bad news at Starwood with Mr Hunt saying the company will soon announce the development of a Westin waterfront resort in Queensland.

The Australian also reports that two new Sheraton by Four Points will be announced next week.
