After working in the USA and New Zealand with the Globus Family of Brands, Stewart returned to Australia in 1992 to take up a local directorship with the company.
He was appointed Managing Director of Globus’ Australasian operations in 1998 and achieved an MBA from Macquarie University in 2003.
Having experienced many styles of travel over the years, Stewart is passionate about cruising.
In 2003, he introduced the Avalon Waterways’ river cruising product to the Australasian market and soon after was invited to be part of the cruise line’s international design team for the new Panorama class vessels.
Stewart oversaw the launch of the first Panorama class ship – the aptly named Avalon Panorama – by Australian TV host Lisa Wilkinson in Germany in 2011.
This year he will return to Austria to coordinate the christening of the newest of eight Panorama Class vessels – the Avalon Illumination – by Australian TV presenter Deborah Hutton.
