Jetset – the parent company of the Jetset and Travelworld retail brands plus wholesaler Qantas Holidays – has just had its shares placed into a trading halt to “finalise the terms of a material merger”. Travel Daily says the merger is rumoured to be with Stella Travel Services, which owns retailer Harvey World Travel and Travelscene American Express among many other travel businesses. If true, it would result in a mega-retailer. An announcement expected by Thursday. See updated story.
