  1. Dear Mr. Singh

Australia For All Alliance is made up of people with disabilities and their carers who have constructed an international web site: http://www.australiaforall.com which is devoted entirely to accommodation and leisure venues which are accessible to people with disabilitie.

I write to many of the InterContinental hotels around the world which state on their web sites that they have accessible rooms for people with disabilities. I write seeking photographs of one of their wheelchair accessible toilet/shower areas, but do not receive any reply to this request. These are the two most important areas for a person on holiday with a disability because if they cannot access these areas with ease their holiday is ended before it has begun.

I am writing to ask if your hotels have the same design of their wheelchair accessible toilet/showers for all hotels? If so, could you arrange for me to have a photograph of these areas that I can use when including your hotel brand accommodation on our http://www.australiaforall.com web site which is devoted entirely to accommodation and leisure venues which are accessible to people with disabilities.

We do have a number of your brand hotels on the web site, but this is a very small percentage of your hotels which do have these facilities. Inclusion on the web site is free of charge to all tourism providers as we see this web site as a community service obligation.

Have you any idea of how we can overcome the problem of some of your hotels unwilling to agree to accept our offer of free advertising with the proviso that we are provided with a digital photograph of ONE of their wheelchair accessible shower/toilet areas?

For your interest we have given presentations about this unique website all over the world and have won awards for its ease of navigation for people with intellectual disabilities and upper limb weakness.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    With kind regards
    Sheila King
