Virgin Australia will mirror the Qantas Group strategy of using its low cost subsidiary on the Bali route by pulling out of the market and using Tigerair Australia to service the holiday destination instead.
The switch is significant because it marks Tigerair’s first foray into international services. The changes are effective from March 26 next year.
Tigerair will use three all-economy configured Boeing 737-800 aircraft to fly from Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth to Denpasar.
NB: Qantas hasn’t flown to Bali for years, using Jetstar instead.
