Travel Industry Pricing Practices On Trial

Travel industry pricing practices go on trial in the Federal Court of Australia today. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is accusing travel retail giant Flight Centre of price fixing by asking Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Emirates for access to their cheapest fares. Price parity – ensuring products are sold at the same rate across all sales channels – is of course standard industry practice.
