The evolution of Virgin Australia from a low cost carrier into full service airline will be complete by Monday. This weekend the airline is switching to a new Sabre booking and check-in system. The SabreSonic platform replaces Navataire for domestic flights and Amadeus on international services.
The move standardises Virgin’s IT, improves interlining with partner carriers, facilitates smoother passenger connections, and makes booking easier for travel agents. Apart from the new tech, Virgin is also dropping the DJ flight code. All flights will now begin with the code VA.
