Wotif Group boss Robbie Cooke spoke to investors at a Macquarie Group conference in Sydney last week. Here’s a few things I found interesting: the main site has a very high 10% “look to book” conversion rate. It’s a still a healthy 4% on Lastminute.com.au but just 0.8% for Asia Web Direct. He says holiday home inventory is on the way and there’ll be a new GoDo site. Cooke also said that less than 10% of bookings on Wotif.com come from “search marketing”, which I’m assuming is paid search.
