HotelClub.com has relaunched with a slew of new features following the completion of its long-heralded migration to the Orbitz Worldwide global technology platform. President Jeremy Bellinghausen today revealed new site features and functionality including improved search results, map view, virtual tours, and a streamlined booking process.
The company has also upgraded its loyalty program with members now earning up to 7% on every booking, equity that can be applied to future transactions.
The technology platform move has been a long time coming for HotelClub and the project is still under way for other Orbitz brands.
“The development of a single, unified technology platform allows Orbitz Worldwide to significantly improve the speed, flexibility and overall site experience for customers while vastly reducing the time required to test and deploy enhancements across all sites.
“New features and functionality can be tested and deployed in hours instead of weeks, allowing the company to more quickly adapt to changing market conditions, booking behaviours and new travel products and technologies.”
All hotels in the OWW consumer brands portfolio have now completed the migration to the global hotel platform including Orbitz and Cheaptickets, ebookers and now HotelClub.
ebookers was the first brand to complete this in the second half of 2009.
Since its migration, ebookers has delivered seven consecutive quarters of double-digit revenue growth and nine consecutive quarters of double-digit hotel room night growth, capped by 49 percent and 31 percent, respectively, in the second quarter of 2011.
